Why a Grand Cru is the perfect match for the Holiday dinner table.......

While this may seem obvious to some of you, the majority of consumers out there don't necessarily understand the French classifications of wine.  If you go onto merriam-webster.com, you'll find this definition of a Grand Cru:

         "a wine of the highest rank or reputation within it's appellation"

One of the reasons why it's easier to find great quality in Burgundy is due to the classification system.  Grand Crus are the top level in the classification system, followed by Premier Cru, Village appellations, and Regional appellations.  As you can see in the table below, Grand Crus account for only 2% of wine production in Burgundy. 

          Remember that Burgundy is home to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, which means a red Grand Cru from Burgundy is one of the best Pinot Noirs in the world.  Why not give a gift of a Grand Cru this holiday season, a perfect wine to share with family, friends, and loved ones.

Pumpkin Soup with spiced pumpkin seeds

What a great way to celebrate changing seasonal ingredients and a classic American holiday!  Jack-O-Lanterns and Pumpkin soup....mmmm!  Why not reach for a bottle of Henry Fessy Beaujolais, Moulin A Vent or Fluerie, the traditional juice of Autumn. 

Costume to match?  Why not royalty for Halloween this year, dress up like a King and Queen when serving this particular pairing; Moulin A Vent and Fluerie are known as the King and Queen of Beaujolais for their masculine and feminine qualities.
