From Football to Fessy...

As we approach the end of October, we are knee deep in football season, college or the NFL; it's taking over the weekends.  As baseball comes to an end, and basketball just getting started football finds itself as the focus of many American households at this time of year.  As the sport is all about matchups and playing together, we suggest pairing those Saturday and Sunday treats with a little Beaujolais.

Whether it's chicken nachos, teriyaki wings, pizza, or even a burger, reach for a little Henry Fessy to wash it down and score a touchdown with friends!  Beaujolais wine is made with the Gamay grape, and is a perfect wine for fall. It’s light, with great funky red fruit flavors of berries, and a great amount of acidity; generally served slightly chilled.

Find great priced Henry Fessy Beaujolais here!

The seasons are changing, the weather is getting colder, the trees are changing color, and you are adding layers to your wardrobe....Fall is here, and regardless of how much rain we get, it's time to break out the soups, and seasonal ingredients for heartier meals next to the fire.   Here is a classic that's reinvented, recipe by French/NY chef Eric Ripert.

Pumpkin Soup with spiced pumpkin seeds

What a great way to celebrate changing seasonal ingredients and a classic American holiday!  Jack-O-Lanterns and Pumpkin soup....mmmm!  Why not reach for a bottle of Henry Fessy Beaujolais, Moulin A Vent or Fluerie, the traditional juice of Autumn.

Costume to match?  Why not royalty for Halloween this year, dress up like a King and Queen when serving this particular pairing; Moulin A Vent and Fluerie are known as the King and Queen of Beaujolais for their masculine and feminine qualities.

See full recipe on our Cuisine tab above, or click here to see it on Chef Eric Ripert's website.  Enjoy!

Traveling through Burgundy from within California - Chapter 1

Is there a Burgundy region in California? My answer is yes. Understanding Burgundy and what makes the wine so delicious can help us Californians understand how to source quality wine, and how to enjoy the best of Burgundy. If you are like myself, and you were raised in the bay area then there is a good chance you were raised on Napa Valley and maybe a bit tainted.  Continue »
