Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi 2009
Classified as Grand Cru since 1937, the appellation of Corton 'Clos du Roi' has existed since the 15th century, when the King of France would stock his personal cellar with these fine wines from Corton. With a perfect due-east exposure on the hill of Corton the vines are farmed in the traditional way by the vignerons of Domaine Louis Latour: harsh pruning permits later harvests and also insures that a good level of ripeness and richness is acheived in the grapes. This powerful and elegant wine has fantastic ageing capability.

Tasting Notes
The intense red of this Corton pairs perfectly with the wooded notes harmoniously intertwined with the aromas of cherry, currant, liquorice and leather. The tannins are supple and the liquorice really comes through on the finish.
