Aloxe Corton 1er Cru Les Chaillots 2008

Aloxe Corton 1er Cru Les Chaillots 2008

Of the total hectarage under vines, the Latour family control just over 13% of production centred on the famous Château and cuverie of Corton-Grancey. The name "Les Chaillots" refers to the stony, pebbly nature of the soil in this vineyard, as ‘caillou’ means pebble in french. There is an alliance in the wines of Aloxe-Corton between the finesse of a Côte de Beaune and the mellow, powerful appeal of the Côte de Nuits. This is a wine that can age for over 10 years.

Tasting Notes
This "Chaillots" is of a beautiful ruby red colour and has a heady perfume of cherries and liquorice. A wine with great finesse, mellow tannins and beautiful length.
Allen Meadows, Burghound: 89 points "An exceptionally fresh and very pinot nose offers up high-toned red berry fruit aromas that complement the detailed and softly stony light to barely middle weight flavors that possess good punch and vibrancy on the delicious and dusty finish. 2014+. "
