After having great success with our "Ardèche Chardonnay", then with our "Grand Ardèche", Maison Louis Latour became interested in planting the Viognier grape variety on Ardèche soils and in the original blend that could be made with Chardonnay.
Maison Louis Latour once again exports its Burgundian know-how outside of the Côte d'Or. After the great successes of Ardèche and Var, we have decided to repeat the experience since 2010 by planting Pinot Noir in Southern Burgundy,in the heart of Beaujolais.
In this area which is in the North of the appellation of Beaune and exposed to the East, you can find parts of the faces of old limestone quarries with various fine limestones.
The wines of Pommard are quite different from those of the neighbouring villages. They tend to be deeper and more concentrated than Beaune or Volnay wines.
