Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot 2009
The wines of Chassagne-Montrachet offer great value due to their relatively unfashionable image when compared with their direct neighbours at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet.
The wines of Chassagne-Montrachet offer great value due to their relatively unfashionable image when compared with their direct neighbours at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The wines are fat and exotically fruity. Morgeot is a perfect example of these wines and has a warm, tropical appeal that is hard to rival. A fresh, chewy richness precedes an opulent finish.

Tasting Notes
This deep yellow Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot will charm you with its clean and ample bouquet of honey and almonds. In the mouth the wine is rounded and powerful. It is still a little reserved but will age well.
Ratings
Allen Meadows, Burghound: 90pts.
Here too there is a slight touch of reduction though again not really enough to detract from the appeal of the ripe aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, resin and peach that combine with detailed, muscular and intense middle weight flavors that possess good mid-palate concentration and excellent finishing persistence. A classic Morgeot that is perhaps a bit finer than usual. 90/2015+
