Château de Tracy is located in the heart of the Loire River Valley's renowned castle country. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes that are used to make the Château de Tracy Pouilly-Fumé come from the Château's own 67-acre vineyard. Château de Tracy farms their estate vineyard in a gentle, environmentally sensitive way. Known as conduite intégrée in French, the practice is synonymous with what we know of as sustainable farming; gentle, non-intrusive farming techniques on the estate's flinty clay and limestone soils result in naturally low yields (3 tons per acre average) of exquisitely concentrated fruit. Château de Tracy's winemaking philosophy is best described as minimalist. The winemaker intervenes as little as possible during vinification. This 'hands off' policy helps preserve the intrinsic characteristics of the wine. The lees are kept in suspension for 8 months to create a richer, more complex style of Sauvignon Blanc. The finished wine is blind tasted to select the lots that will be blended to create this estate's second label, Mademoiselle de T. This Pouilly Fumé offers exceptional value and is aproachable and refreshing in its youth.
