The wines of Chassagne-Montrachet offer great value due to their relatively unfashionable image when compared with their direct neighbours at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet.

Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive northerly white wine commune of the Côte-d’Or.

The vineyard of Sous le Puits is in the heart of a cluster of the finest Premiers Crus from Puligny-Montrachet, amongst wines such as Les Truffières, Les Chalumeaux and Les Perrières.

After the ravages of the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the 19th century the Latour family took the decision to tear up the dead Aligoté and Pinot Noir vines and to replace them with Chardonnay. 

The vineyard of Les Charmes is located just to the south of the village and is recognised to be one of the finest plots in the Meursault appellation.

The vineyards included in the appellation Montagny are spread throughout a number of villages in the Côte Chalonnaise, namely Montagny, Buxy, Saint-Vallerin and Jully-les-Buxy.

Puligny Montrachet is home to some of the world's most extraordinary Chardonnays including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet.

Puligny-Montrachet is the 216 hectare geographical middleman of the white wine villages, bordered by Meursault to the north and by Chassagne-Montrachet to the south with which it harbours 5 of the 6 white Grands Crus in Burgundy.

An exclusive of Maison Louis Latour (estate grown and bottled), the Château de Blagny is located high on the hillside overlooking Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet.
